Internet Church

Recently, a friend of mine from Church of the Resurrection (Clif Guy) was blogging about the beginnings of the Internet Campus and how COR is looking to do this…
I began looking around @ the web and found the Internet Church (www.Lifechurch.tv) seems to be the ones doing this the best…

I believe many churches will soon be taking a turn towards the virtual. Who would have ever thought of virtual church, but it is becoming a reality in the 21st century. Yes – it is hard to touch, love, and hug – but in this day and age with text, voice, video chat and other social networking tools like twitter, facebook, youtube, etc – fellowship is just a click away…

Soon – You can worship from any remote location with just an internet hook-up and the web address of your own church… (are they ready ?)

  1. It was great meeting with Clif and his team.

It is very interesting where the church is and what tools we have available in our day and time. I remember starting the Internet Campus at LifeChurch.tv and deciding what would be the right way to use this powerful tool. I believe the church should leverage this tool in a powerful way, but at the same time remember that the internet is just a tool. It is neither good nor bad in and of itself. Its use will determine that. The church has an incredible opportunity to redeem its use for the vision God has placed in them.

I believe there are many creative ideas still coming on using the power of new web 2.0 tools with the principles of the church. I am really excited to see them in the context of all the styles and personalities of different churches.
