Black Hat Conference This Week . . .
The annual Black Hat Conference is being held this week in Las Vegas @ the Caesar’s Palace.
Kinda makes me think the setting fits – BlackHat itself is a gamble where almost anything can happen.
Microsoft is inviting attendees to test and identify any security shortcomings in its Vista codebase…
It is rumored a senior security researcher @ Coseinc (out of Singapore) named Joanna Rutkowska already has a rootkit which she will showcase during her presentation “Subverting Vista Kernel for Fun…”
this rootkit called bluepill – is supposed to be undetectable – and is based on AMD’s virtualization technology ….
If true – Microsoft has a lot more work to do if they want this Vista OS to roll onto any hardware I own — but then again – aren’t 1/2 my PC’s already running the beta and the other half breathing much better since they are using CentOS ?
