split screen in Mac Terminal
If you haven’t noticed it by yet, there’s a new widget on the Terminal app’s scrollbar. This little widget allows you to split the window (even more than once) and drag the divider where you would like it to sit.
The area above the divider line is the scroll buffer; the area below the line is the area showing your active session.
Now – you can easily look back to your previous commands, output streams, look @ a man page while doing a tast – etc…
Important note however – the scroll bar will work on the scroll buffer but not on the active session. This makes it very easy to look back for previous commands, output streams, man pages, etc.
